Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, I can’t believe it is August already. Summer goes by so fast! Outdoor events and vacations are nearing the end, and families must prepare for the upcoming school year; and sadly, some folks are facing the possibility of not having a place to stay as the weather grows colder.

Happy April my friends! On April 5 we celebrated Easter Sunday, and in the Catholic Church we celebrate the Easter season for 50 days! Christ is Risen! This is truly the most wonderful time of the year and the foundation of Christian faith. Jesus took on the burden of our sins and died and rose again so that you and I may have eternal life with Him, the ultimate act of sacrificial love and redemption. (read more)

We want to express our deepest condolences to the community and families of those that were killed and affected by the house fire that took place on Tuesday morning on Martin Luther King Ave. This is a horrible tragedy, and our entire staff was deeply affected by the scene which unfolded within sight of our Center for Hope Warming Center. We will continue to pray and work as we must mitigate the impact of poverty in our community. (read more)

As the winter frost gives way to the warmth of spring, I find myself deeply moved by the incredible, quiet work of transformation happening all around us. Even as we still see brown earth and cloudy skies, God is at work behind the scenes, preparing new growth. This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it (Psalm 118:24).
