Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, I can’t believe it is August already. Summer goes by so fast! Outdoor events and vacations are nearing the end, and families must prepare for the upcoming school year; and sadly, some folks are facing the possibility of not having a place to stay as the weather grows colder.
Dear Friends in Christ, As we step into July, the summer heat often brings added strain to those we serve—particularly individuals and families struggling to keep cool, put food on the table, and secure basic needs. Our mission calls us to respond with both practical help and compassionate hearts.

Happy April my friends! On April 5 we celebrated Easter Sunday, and in the Catholic Church we celebrate the Easter season for 50 days! Christ is Risen! This is truly the most wonderful time of the year and the foundation of Christian faith. Jesus took on the burden of our sins and died and rose again so that you and I may have eternal life with Him, the ultimate act of sacrificial love and redemption. (read more)

We want to express our deepest condolences to the community and families of those that were killed and affected by the house fire that took place on Tuesday morning on Martin Luther King Ave. This is a horrible tragedy, and our entire staff was deeply affected by the scene which unfolded within sight of our Center for Hope Warming Center. We will continue to pray and work as we must mitigate the impact of poverty in our community. (read more)

As the winter frost gives way to the warmth of spring, I find myself deeply moved by the incredible, quiet work of transformation happening all around us. Even as we still see brown earth and cloudy skies, God is at work behind the scenes, preparing new growth. This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it (Psalm 118:24). CCSGC Teams up with NBC 25 and all Dort Financial Credit Unions for 25 days of giving
We are teaming up with NBC 25 & all the Dort Financial Credit Unions for donations to the Soup Kitchens and Community Closets.
All Dort FCU will have bins inside their banks for people to bring items and put inside such as clothes, towels, and nonperishable food items.
Each week, we will pick up the items from every branch to be weighed and distributed to our agency kitchens and pantries.
Last year we averaged 10,000 pounds of food and other donations from all donors during this event.

GivingTuesday is a global generosity movement unleashing the power of radical generosity. GivingTuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Since then, it has grown into a year-round global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.
Join the movement and give – Tuesday, December 2 – whether it’s some of your time, a donation, or the power of your voice in your local community.
It’s a simple idea: whether it’s making someone smile, helping a neighbor or stranger out, showing up for an issue or people we care about, or giving some of what we have to those who need our help, every act of generosity counts and everyone has something to contribute toward building the better world we all want to live in.
HOLIDAYS OF HOPE AT CCSGC
In this season as we prepare for Christmas, our hearts and minds are drawn to something outside of our daily routine. Perhaps we are longing for a deeper connection with someone. Maybe we've heard the whisper of a future hope for ourselves, our families, or our community. But most of all, we realize that we have a desire to share what we have with others. And what better way to spread love and joy than by donating to those in need? For many people, the holidays can be a difficult and lonely time. We, at Catholic Charities provide food, shelter, and gifts, and with your help, we can make someone's day a little brighter and show them that they are not alone. Holidays of Hope is not only a way to make a difference in the lives of others, but it is also a way to spread joy, goodwill, and the love of Jesus during one of the most wonderful times of the year.
