Catholic Charities’ Sacred Heart Veteran Village (SHVV) serves as a comprehensive, transitional housing program to bring area unhoused veterans out of homelessness and into stable housing and healthy independent living.

The SHVV Resource Center is open to all veterans for counseling, financial management, life skills, and social events. The program utilizes evidence-based practices to assist veterans of all levels of need, regardless of discharge status, to make improvements in their quality of life.

How you can Get Involved

We are seeking funding to complete construction of SHVV and for the ongoing programs.

We are looking to build 22 more homes and expand the services to veterans in our community. Please help us end homelessness for veterans who served our country.

Donations can include: Individual Giving, Corporate Giving and Sponsorships, Foundation Grants, Fundraising Events, In-Kind Donations, Stocks and Securities, Legacy Giving, or other generous gift.

$500k grant to help support village for unhoused veterans in Flint

FLINT, Mich. - The Charles Stewart Mott Foundation has granted $500,000 to Catholic Charities of Shiawassee and Genesee Counties to support the creation of a village of smaller homes that will serve as transitional housing for local veterans.

Sacred Heart Village, slated for construction at 719 E. Moore St. in Flint, will consist of 24 to 26 homes ranging from 280 to roughly 500 square feet each. (read more)
