GIVING TUESDAY CHALLENGE AT CCSGC

GivingTuesday is a global generosity movement unleashing the power of radical generosity. GivingTuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Since then, it has grown into a year-round global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.

Join the movement and give – Tuesday, December 2 – whether it’s some of your time, a donation, or the power of your voice in your local community.

It’s a simple idea: whether it’s making someone smile, helping a neighbor or stranger out, showing up for an issue or people we care about, or giving some of what we have to those who need our help, every act of generosity counts and everyone has something to contribute toward building the better world we all want to live in.

HOLIDAYS OF HOPE AT CCSGC

In this season as we prepare for Christmas, our hearts and minds are drawn to something outside of our daily routine. Perhaps we are longing for a deeper connection with someone. Maybe we've heard the whisper of a future hope for ourselves, our families, or our community. But most of all, we realize that we have a desire to share what we have with others. And what better way to spread love and joy than by donating to those in need? For many people, the holidays can be a difficult and lonely time. We, at Catholic Charities provide food, shelter, and gifts, and with your help, we can make someone's day a little brighter and show them that they are not alone. Holidays of Hope is not only a way to make a difference in the lives of others, but it is also a way to spread joy, goodwill, and the love of Jesus during one of the most wonderful times of the year.

VETERANS CELEBRATED AND REMEMBERED:

Yesterday we gathered at McFarlan Veterans Memorial Park to celebrate and remember our veterans who gave their lives for our country. It was a moving ceremony hosted by Bill Harris and included prayer by Deacon Ken Preiss, a presentation of Colors by the Genesee Skill Center JROTC, and a song from the students of Dolye-Ryder Elementary School. Afterwards we met at the Sacred Heart Veteran Village for fellowship and food. Hotdogs were provided by Mr. Bs and Hutchinson's grocery store. Thank you LaShawn Johnson for hosting!
