Holy Angels Community Closet
Share Your Blessings. Build Hope in Our Community.
 

Offering essential items to individuals and families in need, the Community Closet provides:   

  • Personal needs items
  • New and slightly used linens, blankets, towels, and pillows. 
  • Household items and clothing.

 

Our referral-based Emergency Clothing & Food Service offers assistance in emergency situations.

 

Holy Angels Community Closet is located in our Center for Hope (formerly St. Michael School/

Schools of Choice building), on Fifth Avenue west of Saginaw Street in downtown Flint. Open Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Contributions and monetary donations are welcome.

HOPE IN A BOX?

You and your group can make a difference in our community, one item at a time.  The HOPE IN A BOX program encourages community service by collecting one item a month that will help replenish the supply of personal needs items distributed every day at Catholic Charities' Holy Angels Community Closet (located in the former St. Michael School/Schools of Choice Building, downtown Flint). 

 

If you choose to participate, your group will be provided with a large blue collection box, 

monthly flyers, bulletin information, suggested special intentions, as well as examples of announcements that can be read at mass, in school or parish meetings.  You also receive a reminder on the first Monday of the month, which will be sent via e-mail, unless otherwise requested.  Every month, there will be a new “Need of the Month” item such as soap, shampoo or toothpaste.  Your group will be asked to donate the requested item during that month (except in December), to help keep the shelves of the Communty Share program full.  Every month, there will be a new need of the month item requested, such as soap, shampoo or toothpaste.

 

HOPE boxes are emptied by Catholic Charities once a month, or more frequently, if requested. HOPE IN A BOX also accepts plastic grocery bags and clean plastic water bottles, which are used to bag clothes and distribute liquid soap and shampoo.  If you have questions, or if your organization would like to join the HOPE IN A BOX program, please contact us at
