  Thank You, Catholic Urban Project!

Young missionaries from the Catholic Urban Project spent the long, hot summer of 2011 living across the street from Catholic Charities in the St. Michael Parish Rectory, far from home – without air conditioning.  Without complaint, they worked in the office, at the North End Soup Kitchen, at the Community Closet.  They watered, weeded, planted, swept, cleaned, folded, sweated and prayed. They worked at the NESK Summer Camp, and performed home repairs for our Kinship Caregivers. They  even painted signs for our Foster Care parade float, which proudly appeared in the Montrose Blueberry Super Parade on August 20. On weekends, they went door to door asking people if they could pray for and with them, talking about the power of prayer and the value of hope. They gathered to pray for the City of Flint and its people. We are grateful to have met them and to have experienced the joy they find in their faith. Please join us in praying for these young people. We thank them and wish them well as they find their way back home.
