NBC25 is reaching out this holiday season to help those in need, and

we're welcoming the community to join us.  We are partnering with

Dort Federal Credit Union to gather non-perishable food items to donate to the

Catholic Charities of Shiawassee and Genesee Counties Soup Kitchens.

Catholic Charities runs three soup kitchens and three sack lunch programs throughout Genesee County.  Last year, they served nearly 156,000 meals – a 10% increase over the previous year.  At the same time, approximately 80% of Catholic Charities' funding has been cut. 

So we're reaching out to help. Donations can be made at all seven Dort Federal Credit Union locations in our area during regular business hours 

now through December 31, 2011.
